Dolce and Gabanna Spring 2011

This year Dolce and Gabanna celebrated their 25th anniversary! They decided to start the next quarter century with a blank slate; a nearly entire white collection. They described it as a "hope chest," things new and handed down to a bride before she starts her new chapter. I love white, and I love lace..and for an 81 piece collection, it was hard to choose a few to show..so I choose a lot. Ha. The lingerie in the line was sexy as hell!

D&G Spring 2011

The D&G spring collection is described as the Garden of Eden, if Eve was gettting a little frisky. There's cute rompers, bubble shorts, gingham head scarves, flowing Boho dresses, and those adorable "picnic" themed outfits. Simply adorable:)

So if anyone of you loved the 90's TV show My-So-Called-Life as much as I did, you will too understand my absolute loveee for this collection. Charlotte said Claire Danes' character was the inspiration for this line... "dressing down in a romantic way. Grungy, but feminie."

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011

This collection was called "Heritage Biker". It was a line full of trenches, super tight/sexy mini leather jackets, aviator jackets, leather pants, and lots of studded pieces! I love how Christopher Bailey paired more cocktail styled dressed with leather or metallic jackets. That's definitely a look I love--rocker chic. Here are my favs..

Inspiration is 21st century punk rock prototypes--studs, safety pins, tight/shredded jeans and cutoffs, ripped t-shirts, and holy fish nets. I am in need of everything! Especially that white pinned corset and the studded red leather jacket! GAH <3

Antonio has been deemed Milan fashion's romantic poet. And he stayed true with this collection inspired by the 2009 film Bright Star, about the doomed romance between John Keats and Fanny Brawne. I have never seen the movie..kinda want to now, because I am in so love with this collection.

Celebrating 20 years in the biz! And it's been a great 2 decades! This collection was inspired by Joni Mitchell and the Laurel Canyon girls of the late sixties in LA. And I have one word for it... LOVE!!!

Alexander McQueen - SS 2011

Sarah Burton's debut collection all on her own. She has taken over the house after the sudden passing of Mr. McQueen earlier this year; the obvious choice for she has been his right hand lady for 15 years! She kept some of Alexander's signatures, but made changes to them. For example the tail coats; still in, but now more softened; emphasis on shoulders; went from hard and peaked to relaxed and slashed open.
The show started as a "white canvas, steadily reclaimed by nature."
(Embroidered fronds, leaves of black leather, raffia trimmed brocade, dress made of monarch butterflies, and massive amounts of feathers)

Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2011
